Once a common site, these houses known as Janet Pre-Cut Houses, were bought onto the island as pre-fabricated houses to help people whose homes were destroyed by hurricane Janet in 1955. It is a unique vernacular house that needs no preservation. These houses can be found all over the island. The house below is situated in Middle River, Gouyave Estate.
