The Palmiste beach is not only one of the many scenic areas in St. John's for beach parties, night entertainment and picnics, but also for history and adventure. In 1796, it was the landing place of the fleet of Sir Ralph Abercromby, the General who was sent to put down Fedon's Rebellion.
