Ronald Herman McEwen affectionally known as “Rampel”, “Ronnie”, “Mons” of Grenville, St. Andrew and New Street, Gouyave, St. John who resided in Manhattan, New York, passed away on Sunday November 12, 2023 at the age of 75 in NY

Ronald Herman McEwen affectionally known as Rampel, Ronnie, Mons, was born to parents, Vicklyn McEwen and Franklin Calliste on March 12, 1948, in Grenada. As a child, he had a great passion for sports and teaching. He was very focused, intelligent, and motivated. He played a vital role in his family by tutoring his younger cousins and ensuring that they completed their homework promptly and accurately.
He attended Saint Andrews Anglican Secondary School (SAASS) where he excelled in his academics, and as a top sprinter for SAASS, winning numerous gold and silver medals. He also excelled as the top goalkeeper on the famous Saint Andrew’s Soccer Team, a football team known as Ebony. He Graduated from SAASS in 1968 and he pursued a career in teaching and continued to inspire his students with his love for learning. He taught at Lafayette Primary School in Grenada from 1968 to 1969.
Ronald Herman McEwen migrated to New York in 1969 at age 21 (that was when we knew his legal name was Ronald, Herman) to meet his mother Vicklyn McEwen. Within a month in New York, he had his first job interview and was hired. The employers of the New York telephone company also known as Bell Atlantic where he managed accounts were very much impressed with his ability to articulate, and communicate, and his command of the English language and mathematics.
In 1974 he met the love of his life Lana Hosten McEwen, whom he married in 1975. The Union made a family of two wonderful handsome sons, Brian and Christopher. Ronald Mcewen was very much loved by his family.
Left to mourn, his wife: Lana McEwen, Children Brian McEwen and Christopher McEwen, Brother of:, Terence Romney and Denise Romney-Adams. Sisters-in-law, Brothers-in-law, Nieces, Nephews, many Cousins and friends.
